Services Offered

Home Study Services

A home study is a report completed by a Certified Adoption Specialist (Social Worker) that documents the history of your life. The court requires many areas to be documented, so you will be asked to provide such items as Criminal Background Checks, Child Abuse Registry Clearance, financial statements, copies of your birth certificates, marriage license, health statements, and letters of reference. Your social worker will also visit your home to interview your family and discuss various areas of your life, lifestyle, and the adoption process.

The home visit is not an inspection to verify cleanliness, but rather to ascertain the environment is safe and wholesome for a child to be raised.

The purpose of the home study is satisfy the courts that a child is being placed in a suitable home and for you to learn more about the adoption process.

Post Placement Services

A post-placement report is written by a Certified Adoption Specialist to document that the placement of the child is going well. Your social worker will return to your home and visit with you and the adopted child. This visit should be very casual and relaxed. It is simply to verify everyone is adjusting well and offer referrals if necessary. Often, a medical statement from the child's doctor/pediatrician may be requested to send to the appropriate authorities. The number of post placement reports varies depending upon agency, state or country requirements.

It is a genuine privilege to meet the new addition to your family and celebrate the completion of the process with your family.

Birth Parent Services

If you are currently facing an unplanned pregnancy and considering adoption, I respect your wishes and want to offer referrals to you. I know that you have questions, and hope to provide you with answers. I realize that this is an emotional time for you and perhaps your family, and would be honored to offer some support and guidance.

When a woman is facing an uplanned pregnancy, adoption can be a positive option for both the birth mother and her baby. For more than 25 years, I have been listening to birth mothers and birth fathers and helping them to understand adoption and their options.

Fees

Adoption is a very complex issue and many factors have to be considered when placing a price on services rendered. As I view my profession as an adoption specialist not only as a career, but also a calling and mission, I try to keep my prices below some other competitive rates. Please contact me to discuss your particular situation.
